My nephew has a drone with a gopro mounted on it, it's bloody good fun. he's got vids of it flying around the farm chasing roo's and the like. i'd be interested to see where they're at in 5 years

within 40 meters a 12 guage and #9 shot with a wide pattern wad will fix the problem quite nicely.

Does anywhere actually use those things or are they most video game stuff?

They're a real cartridge, though there not routinely used by any law enforcement or military agency AFAIK.

They're a bit of a failed experiment really as I see it. I can't think of a situation where it really serves any specific purpose. There are other options which are more clearly suitable for lethal or non-lethal applications. Shooting a 20m stream of flaming shrapnel would be unpredictable to say the least.

Edit: Had to share this Did a quick Google after replying and found this gem on Wikipedia.

The round has also been used for intimidation purposes, it may also be used as a less-than-lethal option for self-/home-defense
