Warwick WFA straight pull categories confirmed

Post by saucy » 05 Feb 2015, 7:18 pm

This has been "coming" for so long I wouldn't be surprised if most have lost interested but here it is.

Warwick WFA straight pull license categories have been confirmed in a few places now.

Update to category classes for each state:

WFA1 has been confirmed as follows
Victoria: Category B
South Australia: Category B
Tasmania: Category B2
New South Wales NSW has approved the WFA1
Other states are reviewing at present and we will update you when the information is available.

Regards,
WFA

Over here we can't even have a Remington 7615 because it can take AR magazines which are too military.

I was following it for a while and this could possibly be quite out of date, but last I read it was about $8,700 for their semi-auto and $4,000 for the straight pull.

That was 9-10 months ago or something though still while things were being developed so take the numbers with a grain of salt. Could have changed significantly.

I wouldn't turn one down, they're sure asking a premium for that straight pull functionality though.

They're not the only straight pull in town either.

The Browning Maral is about $2,500 now.

On shootingaust. There is a whole thread dedicated to it.

Warwick firearms basically said they were just told by a dealer it's no go in NSW due to looks. They are seeking a formal ruling as they haven't heard directly from the NSW FAR about the re categorisation.

Can I link to it here? Feels kinda dirty... Lol

Ok here is the link

Linking is always cool as long as it's genuine and not blatant promotion of something/somewhere.

Then the stick comes out.

They don't appear to have any problems with Accuracy International who make military sniper rifles.

That's the problem with that rule, it's not blanket enforced and seems to be up to the discretion of the FAR

From memory the wording of the legislation is along the lines of "...if in the opinion of...".

Opinion is law if you're sitting at the right desk then
