Shotgun extractors vs ejectors

Hi guys.

Are shotguns with ejectors not very popular for some reason? Seems like it wouldn't cost much more to have in there, but even on a lot of high end shotguns which cost big bucks a lot don't.

Seems like an easier option?

Any reason they're less desirable?

Out in the field ejectors are the go. I had a field shotgun with extractors awhile back and it was not a patch on my current gun with ejectors. If you are a reloader you have to pay attention and just put you hand over the hulls. Often you can catch the hulls as they come out. When out in the field and there are lots of rabbits on the run there is nothing better than a good gun with strong ejectors.

A good quality gun with smooth ejectors is a joy to use but a cheap one is a pain in the arrrse.

If nothing else ejectors are good for a laugh when a new shooters is cracking the shotty and doesn't know where to point the back of the barrels

An empty shell to the forehead is good for a laugh

I chose extractors because im not keen on bending over and picking up the empties.

I like the ejectors as I use mine out in the field. Makes it nice and quick to pop a new set in. No doubt some people are quick with the extractors but it's too much effort for me

You pay for good extractors too, so budget can be a constraint.

It should be said in the argument for extractors that some property owners get a bit s**ty if you leave your cases all over the place, especially if they are red, and it does take some of the work out of it if you have extractors only.

If you have to put your hand over the shells to stop them flying off into the bush ejectors aren't any faster than extractors.

I have both but whether it has extractors or ejectors isn't going to influence my decision to buy much.

I have a cheap one with ejectors, if shooting in one spot it's ok because you can drop them in one spot the same with extractors, If I was getting another one would prob get extractors so I could pocket or bucket them so I dont have to bend down to clean up

I was dropping at the base of a tree next time out I will take a bucket and see if I can land them in there.
