Collecting cases as souvenirs

Hey guys Just wondering if anyone else does this. When ever I shoot a new cartridge I collect the case as a little momento. Also if you do this whats the weirdest/least common case you have? Mine is a 50ae I fired from a desert eagle

My weirdest is a 45-70 which admittedly is pretty common. I like having some oddball cases too just for a reference of what's out there

I have a .22 case with what looks like tiny shotgun pellets in it. Was given to me about thirty years ago. I thought it was cool as a kid so have kept it all these years. My son mounts his fired case with his trophy. He has them engraved also.
Be careful about leaving empty brass lying around though, Mr Plod doesn't like them out of the locked container.

The 22 round is rat shot. It was made for cleating out barns or other close spaces with vermin in them.

Mounting the case with the trophy is a brilliant idea!

Yep, collect anything new I can get my hands on.

Usually managed to find at least 1 new one each trip to the range.

A fired case has no legal status and you can't be charged with anything other than littering, I have even given them to the local school to use in ANZAC displays.

Fired maybe a thousand plus of the 22 rat shot as a kid killing rats in the grain shed. Anyone remember the mouse plague up Narrabri / Boggabri maybe 30-35 yrs ago? The ground outside was a carpet of mice, we gave up on rat shot and used a grain shovel to club the buggers to death. A farmers nightmare was this kids mass murdering spree

Just the projectile as a collectable.
