Making fun/experimental shotgun loads and legaliities

I've never seen this covered on an Australian shooting forum, wonder if anyone knows.

We can reload ammo here legally, no problem. Are there any restrictions on what we can load exactly though?

Everyone's probably seen the videos on youtube where guys load all sorts of crazy s**t into shotguns shells for fun like darts, paper balls, toothpicks, matches, chains, springs, flechettes, coins, silly putty, you name it.

Is there anything that could get you in trouble for doing entertainment loads?

You can't load anything that would normally be restricted , like tear gas , rubber bullets etc. after that I am not sure. The thing is that this kind of behaviour is dangerous and could put pressure on us , gives ammo to the anti's . Could also damage the bore . It's not a good idea .

Thats a valid question...and when you think about it, there probably are restrictions on projectiles that may make the rounds dangerous. .. like potential to injuring people at the other end who would have thought it was dangerous.. or more dangerous

But whatever is presently outlawed like, say explosive tipped say Mercury fulminate filled into the hollow pint (or is that just in the moooovies?)
Things like tracers, DIY tracers.... would be fun night time shooting... but too dangerous for us

I think AP rounds are also off the list, so inserting a piece of appropriately sized tungsten or mild or hardened steel into the tip.or centre of the proj.. might also push you over the line of criminality...

Yootoob is full of crazy stuff... batteries loaded into 12g rounds...but the mouse loaded as rat shot... thanks brett, coffee spray in your honour you one of the few around these parts who could actually fit a mouse in a round - picture thanks

Third load, should be triple powder I thought, lighter projectile and lower pressure needs more charge. Thinking now if HBN will stick to the fur or should I moly coat him. Little bugger has been into the bird seed past couple of weeks and I finally got him last night, I've reset the trap in the hope he had some friends. I have a double barrel after all and need 2 rounds. If the missus finds this one in the freezer I'll be living at work for a few nights...All in the name of science won't hold with her.

C.O.A.L might be a problem if I swage him down to 50, thinking I'll have to load him old school via the muzzle with a ram in the shotty. I'm definitely going to need more mice If any meaningful load development is to be done.
