So maybe now would be a good time to encourage those who believe MB didn't do it, to start getting vocal about a royal commission, or what ever they want, into PA. There are plenty non shooters who believe the MB/PA thing is a crock, and the 20th anniversary would seem a good time for them to push their thing and divert some a the media and Govt attention away from LAFOs.

Lets hope the Liberal Democrats get up along with the SAF Party to let next year, the 20th Anniversary of the Port Arthur massacre, be a year where LAFOs can finally not be demonised and blamed for sh*t that they didnt do JUST because they want to be a regular law-abiding, tax paying citizen of Australia.

I actually prefer the look of the 20" in 5 shot.
Without the extended tube it will be a better gun for shooting out of a vehicle due to the reduced bulk under the barrel.

I'll be making sure that my order is changed to 5 shot so Ican avoid any delays.

I honestly don't get why people think what happened at PAM is some conspiracy...

A very close friend of mine was working in the restaurant when it happened.

It was what it was. To think our government had something to do with allowing or assisting or what ever other BS people keep spouting is insane.

A loose cannon with a checkered past did what he did.

People have even suggested there was no way he could have shot 35 ish people alone (in a busy tourist spot)...I think these people are naive and seem to want it to have been a conspiracy.

Seriously wake up.

I keep coming back to the fact that it was commited by a lunatic in possession of a firearm that had been handed in to police to be destroyed.

Again, if they would stop wasting time and resources on further restrictions for LAFOs and diverted it to illegal firearms and ceiminal activity, they might make some form of progress

Mate, never said that we, as LAFOs, have to buy into that debate (although as a community, and as individuals, we have been the worst affected by the out come), just saying that with the 20th coming up, now would be a good time to have these groups allied and deployed to divert some of the inevitable Govt/media flak headed our way over the next 12 months.

You can't stop this, police can't stop this. I could kill 100 people tomorrow. I'd bring 5 chains and locks and two gallons of gasoline. Maybe a handgun just in case.

We are talking about the rarest of events in civilized society, such as AUS or US. Average number of people murdered in mass shootings or murdered by "assault weapons" in the US is about 100 per year, in a country of 330 million people. It is in the running for the most ridiculously unlikely way to die. 4,000 kids drown each year, most in swimming pools, and nobody cares.

I agree with the replies. I am directing what I said at those who do want to turn PAM into a conspiracy theory. We all know people think it.

The general public don't !

The gov have and will use it to demonise innocent law abiding tax payers. People like us.

If anyone has questions about what really HAPPENED at port Arthur that day I have access to a witness account. Not rehashed opinions or know it all suspicions.

If the guns used were once handed in to a dealer to dispose of (before the steal back) as is human nature...does anyone think dealers or cops are imune to thinking mmmm thanks I will on sell this tool for profit? I think not.

It's reported a NSW dealer did just that. Received handed in Firearms but just didn't dispose of them as expected. UN registered items not on the books. Registry pages not on forwarded so no record, simply on sold.

Maybe a little, (but my hides thick enough) as I'm the only one who has mentioned that there are those who believe MB didn't do it and that we should be encouraging them to push their wagon harder over the next 12 months. But mostly put the snickers comment in, as to me it looked like you might be getting a little bit fired up and ready to drop a broadside salvo on anyone who disagrees. We all have our own opinions on PAM, and personally, whether MB did it or not, I'd like to some sort of inquiry as to why he was denied his Constitutional right to trail by jury. But, hey all good as far as I'm concerned. :friends: :drinks:

Most of the party members are confused individuals to.

I see it this way now, there is a massive inbalance... too many seats are held by Labor and liberal and borh are as bad as each other now day's, it's all about the next election rather than what's good for our nation. The greens are over represented due to preference votes and young people who think that they are doing the right thing for the planet. The Greens brains are cooked from years of drug abuse.
Not enough seats are held by independents with rational thinking to keep the above 3 honest.

Why do so many people have a hardon for Adler? So you can fire, now, 5, shots like cowboy, w00t? Is the excitement and anticipation really worth it, or am I missing something here?

I dont think I'd call it a hardon..... most shooters I suspect would reserve that response for a fine example of the opposite sex...

As far as your question, the mere fact that your asking it would indicate that you've missed the point.

Refer to the reams and reams of letters, forum posts, faceache rantings....

Given that you're probably a young punters by your handle, I'll recap past events where previously, 'factions' in the shooting community didnt bind together to fight (be vocal) because the proposals 'didnt concern them', eg, who cares about losing 45cal pistols... I shoot 22 rifle.. or who care about semis, I olnly need a side by side.....
No more. Shooters have finally started to work out an attack on one, will eventually reach all!

The lever shotgun was AND STILL IS legal throughout Australia... The FEDS have unnecessarily barred the 5+ version of the Adler - and deprived at the moment hundreds - of shooters of this shotgun solely for political reasons.

That was a lot of nasty adjectives :)

From the outside looking in, I didn't read any condescension. But misunderstandings always happen, and perhaps I'm the one off base. I'm always explaining to young guys the things we have been through to get where we are, and the people that stabbed us in the back along the way. And being in my 40s is not old enough that I don't learn from the older guys things I didn't know from the good old days before the 1968 GCA. Or before the 1986 FOPA, when I knew what was going on but wasn't really old enough to be up to my elbows in it.

And there has been a lot of talk about the Adler on here, in probably a dozen threads, and it was mostly because it was being banned for no good reason. Not so much because everybody thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

As for the adler itself, it fills a place in the market. Many existing lever action shotguns need 2 3/4 shells and a few have reliability and feed issues. Add to thst the fact that most look quite similar...
Enter a newer more modern design that is reasonably priced and feeds 3" shells.
Lever action shotguns have an important place in the destruction of ferals.
Add that to what has been said earlier, and it starts to paint the picture

To another point, repeating shotguns are a little hard to come by since they made pump action shotguns effectively gone from a lot of people's hands. Repeating rifles? Sure. Repeating shotguns? AHHH SAVE THE PUBLIC NUU RAPID FIRE SHOTTIES!!11!

To be honest, a 3 barreled shotgun is about as far as you're likely to get in regards to a few shots in quick session. The chiappa lever action is out there, but its a very old design. That's why the adler was a game changer, as it allowed us to own a repeating shotgun that wasn't a pump or a semi auto.

But on top of all of this, if we want to fight to get our guns back, one of the fights we should stick up is for our pump action shotguns! So many shotguns are pump action, remingtons, mossbergs, benellis, SPAZs, the list goes on. But they were taken away because they 'fire fast'. What nonsense!

I'll try and get a download of it later, but I just heard something I wasn't aware of on ABC radio this morning.

According to ABC's fair and balanced reporting, apparently...

- The Adler A-110 lever action shotgun is an "automatic shotgun".
- The removal of an unconstitutional ban on the 130+ year old firearm technology by Tony Abbott last month is "relaxing the gun laws".

And, stop the press for this one...

- John Howard's gun laws have made us all so much safer since 1996.

Gave radio time to Rebecca Peters, then thanked her and called her the "go to girl" on the issue, and that was it.

I guess the adler can't be that far off from this one here right?
