Are these forests any good for ferals

Is there much in Bungal Forest or even Creswick Forest? Looking to go somewhere different and Wombat isn't really producing much

Looks like very limited shooting in Creswick, light green is SF, gray is plantation and pink is Regional Park land.
Bungal looks like an option and there are 2 others next to it, though they are fairly small.

In my limited experience shooting in similar forests out west Vic, you will find plenty of Roos and wallbies. Probably wont see any rabbits unless you are very lucky and you wont see any hares unless you stumble very close to one (they hide and are super difficult to spot when hidden) and if you do stumble on one you had better have your rifle ready to go as you will only have a few seconds to get a shot off as they are quick to bolt.

A lovely little site put together by the DELWP. It's only for Victoria though.

Just an update; I went in bungal forest Friday evening and ended up with a few bunnies. There were countless roos didn't see much else through there though

Forest explorer is great for determining where the SF's are!

Its being changed in June 2017. Jope foe the better and not worse.

I've looked around all those SF. Never see anything but roos.

A lot of the riparian state forests in Vic around the Murray and the Ovens, Golburn, etc have been handing over to National Parks for the last 5-10 years.

Mmm, I haven't been there for about a year. Had a whistle but didn't see any. If I get time might pop up for another look.

In the otways the they changed the status of a lot of SF to Forrest Park. Most activities continue, including shooting but closed to timber industry. Nat a bad result me thinks.

Just should have restricted noisy bikes too.

Bungal and Lal Lal are a couple of my regular forests too, I've had several foxes between them, not much else in them except for natives, though lal lal was where I got my first feral cat.
