I'd strip the stock and maybe oil it.....
The 20inch is a good handy size, and open sights to boot....enjoy

edit to add.... OK, you done the refinish thing

The bolt was polished by the smith and the whole action and all metal parts were polished and reblued. Barrel was actually damaged had a chip out of the rifling about 6" from the crown. worn was a very misleading word appologies

Ah that's a nice looking toy Brett. I'd love a pistol but I live about 2h from my nearest pistol club. ah well rifles it is for me! :drinks:

In NSW I have to do 6 shoots per year which is once every 2 months (I'm averaging 1 a week at the moment) so it's not a big effort. Join up and make a day / night of it once every couple months depending on the VIC attendance requirement. It's great fun, tonight I was getting some instruction from 2 master grade shooters. Both were extremely helpful, offered sound advice and I'm sure my shooting is better for the time spent at the range tonight.

I got the paperwork in the mail today for my full cat H license which I'll get posted off tomorrow. Full Cat H will arrive March 4th, ill lodge the application for high cal permit the same day, wait 2 weeks then lodge a couple PTA's. With luck I should take possession of the DE44 28 days later along with the Korth 45 PRS I bought today. May seems a long way off but I'm getting old and time passes much quicker these days :)

Korth PRS 4" 45ACP - Better than .5moa accuracy from what I've read.

It's in German but you'll get the idea - check how the barrel is held...

I hesitate because I have no new guns or pics. Honestly, I don't have a camera now. But it's been awhile so here goes.

I have ARs, Glock, Mini-14, Ruger 10/22, M11, M16, shotgun, Colt 1903 pistol, S&W revolver, and some other stuff. Less than 20 for sure. And two silencers, 5.56/.22 and 9mm, both full auto rated.

SHF Ultramag 50 .50 caliber BMG, ammo in the magazine on the chair arm is MK211 High Explosive Armor Piercing Incendiary:

Not Nam, it was first purchased by a police department in 1975. Then went to a dealer, then to me.

I really really really wanted an A1. I know some of the youngin's don't like them, but keep in mind the only registered machinegun part is the stripped lower receiver. I can change anything else in 30 seconds. In the videos about I shoot .22s from American 275 round magazines, beta mags from an 11.5" railed barrel. I'm thinking about getting the new 9mm beltfed upper for it. I thought it was silly at first but the price is right and they seem to work without tinkering. I'll be sure to get video.

I have Browning 1919A4 .30 cal machinegun kit with sideplate but semi-auto only and I haven't built it yet. I have a nice 1917A1 tripod for it though so it will be fun with some spade grips or a crank to make it shoot more like auto.

I'd get my left nut from the wife's handbag and sell it to buy an AR15 if they were legal here. I'm in love with the modular concept and how adaptable they are but guess my wife gets to keep my nuts in her bag a while longer :(

When you think of it,,, what would you give to go back to the old days of semi auto's.....both from a collective and operational/user prospective. I don't know about you, but I handed in a lot in that buy back...and I never hurt anyone....still such a sore point in our sport.

What make that rifle more 'attractive' is that its obviously well loved and used... got the 'patina' .... not one of the thousands of makes of mass produced supermarket grade AR15s...mind you if I was over there I'd probably buy a few of them myself....

Brett, you dont need to separate yourself from for nuts, although it sounds like it only remains a technicality for you now that the missers carries them around for you :?

But here, as you know nothing is illegal, everything, even an M16 with pew and pewpewpewpew settings are do-able with the right paperwork..... AR15 are not that unreasonable, even a semi only M14, anyone Aussie who's into country music and likes guns would attest to this, BUT DONT PUT IT ON YOUTUBE!!..... :unknown:

SHV,
That green aiming mark would have been very hard to see with iron sights like yours. Speaking for myself anyway.
Your eyesight must be excellent.

that's ture, the front sight totally cover the green target, you have to remember the position and shot without seeing it

I recently play a lot air rifle with iron sight (break barrel air rifle, sometime the scope doesn't work well), around 20 meters shooting a 308/223 shell is the same thing, you can not see it clearly or even can not see it at all, but after a while you will get used to it

Iron sights.

When I had my 94 30-30 I adjusted so the front sight was just a tad under my aiming point and I had a clear aiming point ... ie the shot would land high of the front sight and kept that same position for critters and/or targets.

Gee, I miss my old Win 94.

for me, my ruger scout 223 and howa heavy barrel 308 can not do the same or better group, even at 50 meters, maybe I haven't found the right ammo for them, but for Anschutz, it's not too hard to do it and average group is not bad as well

I did the same thing later and finally the latest 5 shots group in the right place, otherwise I have to guess each time

now I love my 94 more than others

the first 5 shots are PPU, very high but one fly low

second 5 shots are federal, still high but very tight

third 5 shots are remington, not too bad group and all fly lower than PPU and federal

the last 5 shots are PPU again(the white color holes), this time adjust the sight low so I can see the target much better than before and finally the group is on the right place

Shot one then adjust rear sight for windage. Off a front rest and rear bag...

I then adjusted height slowly, then left it as was for a 100 yard centre where it stayed.

A few years ago.

When I last shot iron sights with a bead fore sight, I turned the back of the target to the front. Hey Presto, no aiming mark to hide behind the fore sight :D
Those beads are too big for the aiming mark and too small for my eyes :?
Find the centre of the white rear face and mark it with an X, so you can see it through your spotting scope and superimpose the bead over the whole piece of cardboard. No need for good eyesight anymore :D
