O.K.
Your experience is ( perhaps ) a testament to quality.
Stirlings were always 'made to a price' and nothing more.
However, I understand the sentimental attachment, something I also enjoy with various arms handed down through the generations.

Yes your spot on Mr Winchester 90% sentimental and 10% quality, but have been shooting it for years and have learned how to get the best out of what is a very basic .22LR. Would love to own a Brno number 1 or 2 or a Winchester Lever in .22LR.

Well folks, I finally put something on hold.


Annnnd it was a Puma 22lr in a synthetic stock. Looks like it hasn't been used much at all, bore was still pretty good tho a little mucky, but I got it for 250. Will pick it up in about a month's time :D
If something doesn't work, apply rule .303!

Have seen 'em like that ( huge rabbit populations ) POST mixo ....

However, those areas have never 'recovered' / looked better, since the release of the Calicivirus.
