Have got a good contact over there I'm chatting to now who knows these rifles from first hand experience in F Class. He's going to just call them. We're both sick of waiting.

Yeah. Been waiting to find one available for about 18 months so far. Approx 700 made. Over 100 I know of destroyed and an unknown number left in circulation once they were withdrawn from service.

For every one I've seen advertised for sale I've seen 10 people looking for one. That's just with my limited visibility of the UK market from here.

I'm willing to pay the $500Aud more than I saw a couple sell for early last year just to get a good one. They want $2500Aud, oh and s**t exchange rate :x

This reminds me of having two orders with Brownells/Sinclair Intl combined then realising their system had somehow crossed wires with part # and part description causing me to end up with a double up on one calibre and none of another's reloading gear  They are now paying return shipping lol

I gave up with the roundabout email that was like having 5 different conversations going at once and called only to have to spend 7 mins of the 10 mins getting to the point that I was calling from Aus not local and that I needed to discuss the particular issue and get resolution pronto before my credit ran out....beep beep beep frack it !

Not that easy unfortunately, there's a barrel and an action from 2 different states and both need itar clearance for export. The brother inlaw will get both items delivered to him and he will then pack for export and send to the itar approved exporter who will organise all the permits before shipping to my favourite shop in Sydney. Once in Sydneyg the action will need to be registered and a PTA submitted so I can take possession. Then the gunsmith can get to work on fitting the blank to the action, chambering and threading the muzzle for a brake. Then it's off to have a full custom stock made. Maybe if I'm lucky it'll have to first rounds fired before Christmas.

Perfect night outside. No breeze, just a hint of moon, T-shirt and shorts temperature. Absolutely nothing on TV.

This would be a perfect night to go out and smack some foxes, especially as a lot of sheep around here have begun lambing.
Problem is, I'm in a Jew house in a new area, I don't know any farmers here (normal hunting grounds are about an hour away) and I haven't installed a new safe here yet, so firearms are also about an hour away.

Oh how I wish I could go across the road (new house is on the edge of town bordering farm land) and plug some pests right now

Hard to explain, Bill. I had fun with it, plinking at stuff was great - clay targets along the firing line... But I just didn't enjoy it as much as I do my .308. The love just wasn't there. Sold it, got a .223 - ran 120 rounds though it last week, I think this is the caliber I was really after in that range (if the two could be compared). Also shot the 17 on a windy day at 50m and the wind was quite apparent on it, when I was trying to get really tight groups. Usually I just blame myself, but not this time. I then confirmed it, was at the range and the wind picked up, so I switched to the 17 and same deal - which really cemented the idea that I am going to get rid of it.

Nah, I get it. A lot of people get the hmr thinking its a hot rim fire and can do what a centre fire can do, but rim fires aren't centre fires. I know of quite a few people that have gotten hmrs just to decide later that what they really wanted/needed was a .204 or .22 centrefire

I always enjoy reading your stuff, you say you work in I.T but your writing style suggests some education or love of the writing arts. I also thought I'd be more into the competition side of pistol shooting and while good fun it's not that same joy of putting 5 rounds through the same hole with a rifle. I scored an 88/100 last time I shot "Precision Pistol" and while a reasonably good score I felt disappointed cause the group size was around the 5" mark and I am always chasing .5" or better. I am my own competition, trying always to beat previous bests and then beating that. Might hit the range Friday afternoon and put a few hundred rounds through the Glock and STi and hope not to leave disappointed. Also I'm in need of some reloading therapy this weekend and I have a couple buckets of pistol brass that needs loading so I'll be nice and relaxed ready for work Monday.

brett1868 wrote:"11. Why does the Russian Princess insist on lab grade cleanliness in the house but wont vacuum or wash her car?"

In Russia, there's a mindset that the street is filthy, and there needs to be a demarcation of all contaminated streetwear vs what's allowed inside the house. Given the cleanliness of the public transport there, it's already understandable. As for the snow affected areas (most of Russia), consider spring thaw, and 6months worth of phlegm and god knows what else all thawing on the street, so the demarcation makes sense. As for the car... well that's part of the street?
However, My lab manager's zone apparently extends to the car, although why it must be washed so thoroughly when every trip starts with 1km of dirt road... who knows. But never touches the wheel rims, so the car still looks dirty as far as I'm concerned.

That's child's play. I have this:

(not my pic)

275 rounds.

I posted video of it. Haven't used it in a few years, though. Takes about 10 minutes to load at least and once you shoot it the rifle is all gummed up with .22 stuff.

I've been pondering wtf is going on with the NSW firearms registry, I've had 4 PTA's sitting there since the 16/3. Current status shows them as being "Processed" and one my mate sent in week before last doesn't register even though they took the $$ last Tuesday. Even with the Easter Holidays it's been 11 days, usually I have them back within 4-6 working days. Admittedly they are pistol PTA's and maybe a little more complicated but they are not the first I've lodged so shouldn't require the 28 day waiting period. I also lodged an application for a commissioners permit for high Cal pistols and no word on that either. Hopefully I'll have them during the week and I'll be going straight from the shop to the range :)
