Cecil....the next chapter

Who woulda thunk it.... the 'scared off' hunters results in a lion population explosion.....

What? you mean the responsible controlling of animal populations, especially predators and dangerous game has environmental benefits, is sustainable as well bringing income into (very poor) regions ??

See how this story makes 2 lines on page 56 never to be heard of again, just like the exoneration of the guide and hunter...;

‘Cecil effect’: Zimbabwe park may kill 200 lions as discouraged hunters result in over-population

The largest wildlife reserve in Zimbabwe said it may be forced to cull 200 of its lions after the predator’s population “exploded” due to hunters being scared off by international outrage over the killing of Cecil the lion last year.

Bubye Valley Conservancy, which is home to more lions than anywhere else in the south African country, said that the population of over 500 was too much for the reserve, the National Post reports.

The big cats have been decimating the population of antelopes and giraffes, and even wild dogs, cheetahs, and leopards, which have become easy prey after a dry summer left the grass short.

Bubye Valley now fears that it will have to kill more than a third of its lions to ensure the survival of other species. The conservancy has appealed to other reserves across Africa, asking them to take the predators in to avoid a worst case scenario.

“I wish we could give about 200 of our lions away to ease the overpopulation,” Blondie Leathem, Bubye Valley Conservancy’s general manager, said.

However, Leathem stressed that his institution lacks both the offers and funds to relocate the animals so far.

“If anyone knows of a suitable habitat for them where they will not land up in human conflict, or in wildlife areas where they will not be beaten up because of existing prides, please let us know and help us raise the money to move them,” he said.

However, the head of the UK-based Lion Aid charity organization told the National Post that “there is nowhere in Africa, which could take so many lions.”

The big cats burgeoning population is blamed on the so-called “Cecil effect,” which has led to a sharp decrease in big-game hunters visiting Zimbabwe.

Last year, American dentist Walter Palmer killed Cecil the Lion, who was an animal celebrity at the Hwange National Park. The incident caused massive outrage all over the world, and Palmer was even forced to go into hiding for several months.

Bubye Valley already made headlines in January after public pressure forced the cancellation of a lottery in which the first prize was a chance to kill a lion.

So the appeal has gone out to help relocate hundreds of lions....

Well there you go, thank God for greenies ..what? did you say there are now too many Lions NO WAY!!...get PETA they will sort it.
Even though it is a different predator species, it does remind me of how treehuggers attacked the fox fur trade back in the early eighties, now we have lots of cute fluffy foxes eating their way through OZ. I remember one of their favorite slurs against fox hunters...FURDERER...that hurts even typing it.That is why I have hung up the sakos and have bought a rabbit farm, not to eat of course , just to cuddle and make peace.
hugs...I mean cheers.

I'd suggest we throw some funds together to relocate some of those lions.......................... Specifically to the backyards of those bleeding heart tree huggers who were kicking up a stink in the first place.
Cause I notice not one of them have put their hands in their pockets (except for a quick wank) to donate funds for the relocation.

Just came up with the perfect solution....we can start a "Go fund me" project to have the lions shipped to PETA's various offices around the world. We need to spread the love and donate a lion or 2 to each office :)

I reckon..... thats a great idea, and in all serious(less)ness, if a campaign was started, it would get support, and would go gangbusters in the media as a 'funny story'.... funny to the idiots who were flooding unsocial media with their disgusting vile outrage at ALL shooters, hunters.....but it would make a serious point, PETA / AA and all other anti-tards who are so vehemently opposed to ANY hunting, and acted together to seek to END controlled CONSERVATION HUNTING OF Lion in Zimbabwe....

So they wanted the Lions preserved (as opposed to conserved) and the city dwelling tards are more than happy for the numbers to be uncontrolled (obviously there are no natural predators) increase and threaten human population....

Well than PETA et al..... where would you like us to send 200 lions? Melbourne or Sydney?
But we know what their position is, the wilds are for the animals not humans, yep.... animals before humans.

Its an irony lost on most.... these animal rights idiots, call for violence including death! on hunters (Look at the Cecil fiasco) and anyone who injures an animal, we even witness the AA idiots declaring they had and would continue to break the law to help the animals...(sleeping with the enemy??) - yet nothing came of it. Had it have been a licensed shooter.... gun would have been confiscated within the hour!!

As much as I hate the greentards and PETA for their ridiculously overboard opinions and statements, I believe that in many instances their does need to be a lot of control exercised when it comes to destruction of habitat and species.
And like it or not, we as humans are responsible.
Just the fact that we breed and spread the way we do, is one of the main reasons animal numbers and habitats in general are declining.

Simply put, I agree wholeheartedly with conservation to ensure continuance of what we hunt.

However,,,,,,,, in contradiction to the greentards and PETA,,,,,, I fully agree with controlled culling whenever it becomes necessary.

Hell,,,,,, does that sound like common sense ?
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
And,,,,It's been proven,,,,, the most trustworthy females in my entire life were all canines.

Thats right..... some of the most illogical ridunkulous laws banning bits of animals species that are neither native nor introduced into this country (apart from zoos)... So you can go and shoot them but not bring them back.... I tend to recall they even tried to get the African nations to ban Aussies from going over there to shoot??? Or something like like, effectively trying to claytons ban the hunting in another country... the nerve of those sumbiches

Sounds like an opportunity to sell some hunts to a few CEOs and make a tonne of money to put towards conservation.
