The buzz on Harris bipods

Post by buster » 28 Dec 2013, 8:10 pm

Hi guys,

What do you think of Harris bipods?

Seems like there the only one some stores stock, there must be other companies making decent bipods

They're a popular bipod obviously, why such a buzz around them though?

I've got one and I'm very happy with it. It's very well made and the biggest single improvement I ever made to my accuracy.

They're well made without costing a fortune is their appeal.

Yep, affordable quality.

They're $100 retail or something? Probably half that on Ebay...

There are plenty of flimsy bipods for less than that, or other high end ones which are many times the price.

$50-60 on Ebay.

Very good bipods for the money. You can easily spend hundreds on a more expensive one and find it's only marginally better, if at all.

For $60 they're tough to beat.

Easily the best bipod for the money.

First bipod I bought was a $50 one and the feet eventually failed and couldn't retract the legs.
Second bipod I bought, a few years ago, was a Harris $120 or so. The rifle can tilt left and right for those un-even slopes so it's come handy at times.

One regret about it is that I can't put forward load on the bipod so after most shots, it jumps off target.. I'd get an Atlas :)

Dunno about retail, but $70-$100 for a Harris and $200 for an Atlas on eBay.

Hmm, I only had a quick glance the other day and saw a few at $50. Not any more though...

$70-$100 actually looks to be average.

My bad.

I think its more to do with how Ebay search engines work , If you search for Harris Bipods , The harris style ones come up as well.
I had the same problem looking at motorbikes the other day ,look for say Kawasaki and you get ads with Honda and then
not Kawasaki , susuki ,Yamaha ect ect , just another way for the people selling cheap crap to get you to see their ad

The ebay search is rubbish IMO.

You search for anything and it returns anything at all that it can connect to the search by even the weakest thread.

International stuff is the worst... You tick the box to search for stuff only located in Australia, and it brings back all results for shipping from the US...

How hard is it to get that one right? :?
