So crossbows are restricted in Australia? Here in the USA you're able to order them from catalogs. I've not bought one, but I should since I can't shoot a "regular" bow worth a darn.
I've been asked: "How many guns do you need to have?" My answer remains the same: "One more."

Oklahoma, also known as: "The State of Confusion". Formerly known as Indian Territory we're the state that forms the northern border of Texas, better known to us as Baja Oklahoma.

Some of the medieval reinactor clubs are listed as a genuine reason. That is mine on my licence. Most archery clubs don't want to know, from my experience. The safety course for Cat M (crossbow) is pretty much identical to CatA/B. Storage requirements are pretty much the same, but obviously non licenced people can't have access.
I will admit, mine has not seen the light of day for a very long time. Mainly due to the lack of availability of shooting areas/ target ranges. But they are a hell of a lot of fun when they do go out.

Make sure you don't violate any law in your state otherwise you may have to pay heavily for breaking the law. It happened to me once when my MA gun license got revoked as I switched to different state where gun laws are totally different.

I think I'll go for mine in Victoria, you can put hunting down as a reason and just use it for that, take it out to the state forest and site it in for a bit :)

I've had a crack on a compound crossbow , didn't notice my thumb was sticking up above the stock (it was dark)... nealy took the bastard off !

Crossbows are great if you like to chase around, play hide and seek with and break $15 arrows every time they hit something hard.

I'll stick with guns
