Firearms Licence application (QLD)

So I just did my safety course for cat. A&B today, got home and sent off my application to join SSAA online.
I then did a dummy run of the online application for the firearms licence.
I want to shoot at a range as well as recreational shooting, however on the online application I can only choose one "genuine reason" between "Sports or target shooting" and "Recreational Shooting".
If I apply for one will I not be able to do the other?
Is there a way to apply for both?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

If you are relying on your SSAA membership as your genuine reason - pick 'Sports or Target Shooting'.

If you are relying on a rural land owner's permission, then pick recreational.

In both cases you will get RE1 and SC1. So you will get both either way.

The only real difference is that picking Sports or Target shooting will also get you a SC2 code which says you have to stay a financial member of the SSAA.

Applied three weeks ago. I havent heard squat since. No request for id, no status emails. Applied for my pta at the same time but I have the 28 day mandatory waiting period on those.

Seems like the only consistent theme from everyone's application is total time to recieve license overall.

Literally received my license approval email 5mins ago!

Really happy with the process to be honest.
So just under a week all up, submitted a PTA few days ago so hopefully it's not too far behind either.

I say give them a call and explain being super polite.
