Winchester 1892 reproduction in 25-20!

Post by andym79 » 09 Jan 2014, 7:05 pm

Hi does anyone know of any manufacturing currently making 1892 replicas in 25-20?

I know Uberti and Winchester do in 32-20, 38-40 and 44-40, but I can't find anyone making 25-20s!

Not in replicas AFAIK.

The only ones I've seen floating round in 25-20 are the genuine article which are $$$$

If I remember right 25-20 was a bit of a wildcat of it's time.

There have been a few 25-20 since then obviously, but it never really "took" like the other calibres you mentioned. 38-40, 44-40 etc. and doesn't have must of a following like the other "classics".

I think you might be out of luck on this if you want a Winchester 1892 specifically.

You could pick up a Marlin 1894 in 25-20 for cheaper than a Winchester.
Winchester Model 70 Featherweight - .270 Winchester Short Magnum
Uberti 1873 Short Rifle - .45 Colt
Winchester Model 70 Coyote Varmint - .22-250 Remington

I don't think that Marlin is still being made either?

I could be wrong but I thought it went out in the mid 90's maybe?

Might be tough to track down a second hand one for sale...
See you on the firing line.
