Just watching the election on telly. Greens are having a hard time which is good to see. They still have one more seat than I like to see at the minute. I'm disappointed that there aren't more minor parties getting in at the moment there are 4. What are your thoughts.

Not looking good for the senate in NSW there is a good chance Leyonjelm will be gone and the SFFP will not have enough to make it.
If we add the SFFP and LDP numbers we would have had enough to get one senator in NSW, united we stand divided we fall.

Gun Laws are a state issue so I have no idea why the SFFP decided to compete with the LDP at federal level, the LDP do not exist at state level so no competition for the votes there.
My personal opinion is the SFFP should have stayed out of federal politics and fought the battles at state level where they can actually do something with state laws.

When Garry Breitkruetz came out from Canada he warned us disunity would be our undoing and we have to be unified or they will pick us off one by one.

We voted, we expressed our opinion, but we will now probably see 'deals done' to decide whether the blues or the reds get to be called 'the government'.... this is the danger when minority parties get their pet proects up, stuff that will cost us potentially billions of dollars we dont have... simply from greedy mogrels who want the bigger office in Parliament house...

My point is that in a "democracy" where the MAJORITY is supposed to be the rule, we have a situation where the MINORITY will dictate outcomes.
I certainly did not vote for SFFP. While shooting is very important to me ,earning a living and providing for my family is much more important.

I don't believe I should have to pay nearly half my wage in taxes so that others can have an equal standard of living without paying for it. You cannot "create" wealth by dividing it. Taking more money off people who work for it so that those that don't can have more is stupidity at the highest level.

6,600 + 824 = 7,424 'representatives'

or one for every 3,200 Aussies...surely they represent election promises and solution to 'fix' everything....

To say that her vast unpopularity in mainstream Australia beyond her small stronghold of true xenophobic believers is, in itself, an oxleymoron.

I actually think this result is showing democracy at work: the populace are expressing a loud and clear vote of no confidence in any one side of politics. The Australian political machine along with the average Australian political animal has, in the last 10 years, proven beyond doubt that they are all just edges of the same blade and we are all sick of them trying to convince us other wise.

Will the message be heard though?? I highly doubt it. The circus will continue.
