New Recoil Pads needed

I am currently recovering from shoulder surgery. I have a lot of time but not a lot cash on hand. I have a single barrel 12g that has no recoil pad & I want to fit one and a 3006 that needs a replacement. I am also thinking of giving them both an oil finish at the same time.

So I was looking today on the net and they cost anything from $30 to $120 for a piece of rubber.

But I did find some Bisley pads for $30 each. The trouble is I have no idea how soft they are. I have one that looks similar but another brand on the 3006 and it always was on the hard side.

I want a nice soft one, has any one got a Bisley and if so are they nice and soft? Or can any one recommend a soft one that wont break the bank? ( not concerned about colour)

Don't know anything about a Bisley. I have a spinal injury and any form of recoil gives me curry, especially shooting all day at a competition. To make it worse on myself I shoot two rifles in two classes so I don't have a great deal of recovery time between.

To help I bought a few Limbsaver Grind To Fit recoil pads and they work a treat compared to what was on the rifles. One being developed at present has no recoil pad so I see what it's like without by a few shots at home and then see if I fit one if I can still make the weight class.

I've also changed out my Tikka T3 & Sako 85's to Pre Fit Limbsaver Pads... they feel twice or more as soft as the factory pad.

From memory I think I paid about $70 for each one.

Saw a limbsaver screw on at the LGS $100 But they did feel good. Softer than others I have seen.
Whats got me beat is how hard most are. Yet they are meant to aborb recoil.

Quite soft, much cheaper than a Limbsaver (or anything else I could find)

Thanks Baz. I ordered 2. At that price they are worth a try.
Coming from China so I just have to wait now. Lol. But by the time they arive the shoulder should be good enough to do the fitting job.
Think I will give the old 12G an oil finish while Im at it.

I bought a pachmyr decelerator slip on recoil pad for my Boyd's stocked .308 from eBay, it works a charm, I got the medium one it fits the Boyd's stock well and the shoulder is not afflicted over extended range sessions.

Yeh, there seems to be plenty of reasonably priced slips on available. But I needed screw on and the price goes up 5 or 6 fold.

Its just marketing BS . Made for 50 c in china sold for $100 here. How technical can it be. I can buy a new tyre for my car for $60
