i only shoot goats/deer for meat , unless the property owner wants them gone . they might compete with livestock for graze, but their a resource in my book
besides seeing eagles up close on culled carcases, the most amazing bird i've seen is the major mitchell cockatoo. with their crest up and wings extended their beautiful . do a google search on images if you haven't seen one . pics on my iphone don't do them justice . you using a good camera pete ?
I seen them when I went to Booroorban in April. Couldn't quite get a good photo though.
I'm using a nikon D7000 dskr with a 70-300mm nikkpr lense. It does an ok job but I'm planning on getting a nikkor 200-500mm f5.6 lense soon for the longer shots/little birds. This trip I've manage to photograph mallee ringnecks,Bourke parrots, yellow naped honeyearers, striped honeyeaters,Jacky winters, female red cap robins,2 species of butcher birds, and a species of swift I've yet to identify
