I’ve handled the Taipan, but not the Mini.
Any first hand experience on either?
Is there someone who has used both?
Is the Wedgetail worth the extra 1100 odd bucks?

Another short answer, you get what you pay for. And that depends on your budget.

I checked out the Wedgetail Mini today, and I’m pretty impressed, very nice.
At 3k though……I’ve got a couple of rifles advertised at the moment, so as soon as I can sell one of them I think I’ll grab the Wedgetail.

If my wife didn't have a 7615 .223 and it didn't shoot like a varmint gun... she'd have the Wedgetail Mini as she really likes where the controls/ergonomics are and has used our MK216 a fair bit.
Nothing like the awkward Frankenstein feel of chassis stocks on bolt actions.
A mate came out with the 308 version, because he hunts pigs and for the 308's all-rounder capability, and man, it shoots.
His groups with 2206H and the Sierra 150gn hollow-point Gamekings are unbelievable. As good as, or better than, many commercial bolt action varmint rifles of the popular brands. 135 Sierra HP's are as good, for head shooting everything.
The good result must be the barrel quality, because there's nothing affecting the harmonics of it from what I can tell.
He has a 1-8x scope for all-rounder field use and a 3-15x VX5 for playing with loads, on Leupold one-piece mounts and they actually return to zero within 1/2 MOA.
Believe it or not, or maybe he has a freak, or is a great shooter.
You will not regret your purchase, I reckon personally.
