Quick access handgun safe

Just wondering if there is any downside to these safes and how reliable the fingerprint opening option is...Anyone use them..?

and yeah i do know that using a Handgun for home self defence is not acceptable...

Edit..I'm in QLD and have other multi gun safes already but was specifically after a single gun quick-access safe as well.

I have used Vevor for buying a couple of sliding drawers for under a shelf and a poly gun case. Quite impressed with the quality..
They have a shopfront in Brisbane by the look of it. Quite different from Temu.
I tried Temu once but they wanted to know all sorts of details about me so never used them and never will.
Vevor didnt do this. Just buy it and pay. End of story.

Agreed. The item seems totally inadequate for Australian regulations. As said, spend your money elsewhere.

Inadequate legally or perceived robustness...?

I regularly cut mild steel between 3-10mm with an angle grinder with the shroud removed and would think that most gun safes I currently have and have seen are manifestly "inadequate" and could be accessed in under a minute or so if needed..

Unfortunately i think they are mainly just a detterent but someone serious with a 100 battery operated grinder would have little problems getting the guns out..

and yeah you could probably remove one of these safes with a swift slap from the back of an axe or sledgey but likewise stick a prybar or crowbar under a 3mm regular steel safe and i think the dynabolts will soon pop..

Anyway compliance and the reliability of biometric functionality were my main concerns with this cheap device....

I dont kid myself that it an impenetrable safe but access could easily be made more difficult by mounting in a location or adding structure to make getting a hammer or bar at it more difficult .

Last question is should there be any concerns with mounting one of these next to your bed..?...Would a weapons branch inspection raise any questions given the illegality of using a gun for self defence in this country..?

You have to put your safe somehere right and what could be safer then it sitting safely stored next to your person while you are asleep..?and given that my main 9mm is used daily, often twice, for dry fire practice it would be nice to be able to access it quickly and easily with the push of a button.

Go right ahead and buy one. Get plod to visit and inspect. AND tell you it's compliant.
When that's happened, let us all know how you got on.
I did take a look at the on-line picture of the "safe" and a rough "guesstimate" would be that you'd be able to measure of much more than a millimetre and a half thickness. Good luck with your "security".

The claimed 3mm thickness is thicker material then 2 of my current safes one of which is a "Big iron" imported by Niooa and all have been checked by the "plod" and are apparently compliant...

I asked you what about this safe didnt adhere to the current storage requirements in QLD because I cant see anything in the legislation which might preclude it and all you can do is show your total ignorance and give a condescending response......

But at least it gives you a good ego boost huh smartarse.....
