Not too sure about your image hosting service, but all that I can see is a request to "Upgrade to Premium". I'm not going to be doing that.

Yes mate, just upload the pics to the site directly, we would be very interested in what you're describing but cannot see it.

Wouldn't expect you to.

I had multiple images and couldn't figure out how to upload them all to one page. It was only letting me upload one, so I made the entire report into a PNG image, and tried to upload that, and it, of course, was too big a file.

I'm using my website to host it now, and, if for some reason it's not legible, click it and it'll take it to the page on my website that's doing the hosting.

I guess this is what I get for assuming a "free" picture hosting site was actually free :? Sorry about the confusion!

That's a really clever bit of work mate, what was the effect?
I imagine that the two pillar halves would have quite critical lengths to come together and just pinch (didn't want to use the word "compress" because it's not really the intention) the timber enough to keep everything consistently in position.

What happens when the timber yields over time? Can it be "snugged up" again?
With regular bedding as you'd know, you can keep a consistent torque by retightening the action screws as the bedding material settles in the timber, in certain woods it certainly will. I've left out the knuckleheads overtightening everything...

On the other side of the spectrum is the awful plastic bottom "metals" (what a crime of a term) on firearms where the makers just blatantly say "quality is not our intention". If I was a firearm manufacturer and used plastic that basically forms part of the bedding, I would be ashamed.

There's what they look like apart. Notice the bottom metal is the thicker DIP brand, and I'm not sure how well this would work with the stock bottom metal.

It seems to work.

I'm still re-learning how to shoot precision, having not done it in something like 15 years. But when I get on the rifle correctly, I do see quite a bit of improvement, even accounting for flyers:

Not my best work, but I've also not sent match ammo through it yet.

That's a clever design mate, I see how it works with the "washer" forming the top support and the length of the ferrule being super critical.
Clever how you came up with the idea and how much to tension your pillars.
Gee there's some innovative minds out there. Love it.

Interesting experiment. Rimfires can be surprisingly sensitive to how the action sits in the stock, so comparing different bedding contact points should give you some useful results. I’d be interested to see whether the rifle maintains the same point of impact after the action has been removed and reinstalled several times. That repeatability test could be just as revealing as the groups themselves.

Must admit, a very long while back I tinkered with the bedding on a remington .22 (model 581, if I can remember) and it improved the rifles accuracy to a more than acceptable level. Wish I still had it. A mate of mine gave me some epoxy? type stuff they used in dentistry and it worked a treat. Can't remeber what it was actually called, though.
