Drove it home today. I have missed buzzing one of these around. More fun than a Rodeo uterus. Although driving this makes me miss my first car, a baby s**t brown sleeper uber high HP/revving 1975 MKII Ford Escort 2lt 2 door even more. Once when young, dumb and on a promise at 3am, Newcastle to Sydney in under an hour. Damn fresh Crispy Creams a good !!!
If you haven't noticed, I have a soft spot for these little Hairdresser 4WD's (4cyl's in general). Got used to the seating position again and the long action clutch work. Been a while out of a Feroza Saddle. Compared to sitting low in the Rodeo one tonner it is like climbing aboard a Fergie 28 tractor again.
(Picked up the Rodeo from the train station tonight. Bloody clutch...stalled it twice and kangaroo hopped it like mad with witnesses. Looked like I stole it)
Red Roza; Very nimble and remembering to use the gears and keep the revs in the power band is a must, but as I've proven before with these little 1.6lt 16valve buzz boxes, fuel economy is only to be had if driven like a go kart. Labour it and lose. Lacking torque...mmmmayyyybe need a roots SC14...

Not sure what 'granny' is collecting her shopping in now but looks like she drove alone as there is no usage wear to the rear seats or passenger door hinges even.
I should have bought a shooter/beater as it is too nice for mowing down trees and jumping off of sand dunes as the blue one endured.
If anyone's son or daughter wants a cheap 4WD wagon, quoted excerpt;
"petrol with injection. The Feroza is a very nice ride, with almost luxury car qualities (for early to mid 90's) on the road. But due to its heavy chassis (which is almost the same as the Rocky's) works hard off-road. The Feroza has a 1600 engine and the ground clearance is quite high. It is a 5 speed manual, has power steering, power windows and mirrors and comes with air conditioning."
Also central locking.
My 1992 ELIII has Switch/electric controlled 3 stage dampening shocks but this 1994 SXII model doesn't

Used to enjoy this feature when towing or running hard through bends and not slowing down for Newcastle's huge fast roundabouts

Today I filled up then again at the 200km mark after leaving Melbourne in hectic arvo traffic from Bayswater to Frankston and then to Traralgon. Used 17.95lt so not too shabby given the 'stop - start - floor it' nature of the trip...No driving Miss Daisy when leaving the big smoke. Cant wait to clear out

Will go for a hot lap or two of my sandy trail loops. I miss that allot . Benefit now is I have a nice sized and shaped 'Boong-Bar' in case of roos or emus so hopefully my windscreen wont take a hit
